I am so excited to be able to use Steemit to help promote my husband's music. This week was our first entry into the @openmic contest: week 46. The contest closed yesterday, the 18th, with 76 accepted entries - and ours was one of them! While I don't think we won, we did manage to get get 86 votes, up! 86! I think that's a good round for a first time entry. Thank you to all of those who supported us! I know @teamsouthafrica played a big role, we appreciate the support!

We look forward to the next contest, Week 47, which opens up next week. My hubby has already been practicing his song. This time he will be doing a cover, not an original. The song of choice is one by Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) - Moon Shadow. He chose this song because Cat Stevens, one of our all time favorite artists, will be touring South Africa later this year! We are super excited to see him live!
