On December 19, 1987, Whitesnake's track "Is this love" hit no. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart. The track was featured on the band's 1986 self-titled album.

The track gained popularity in late 1986 and the following years. It is considered one of the classic rock ballads of the 80s.
