As most of you know, I am crazy about Japan, its culture and subculture. That's the reason why most of my posts are related to Japan, anime, J-pop, and the like. However, my interest isn't only limited to Japan. I love my own country as well and there are some artists that I really admire.
Earlier today, I saw a video of one of my favorite Filipino singers singing one of my jam when I was younger. The song was originally sung by a Filipino band called "Rivermaya", and they're actually one of my favorite bands way back in the 90s and early 2000s. Well, when it comes to Filipino music, I'd rather listen to alternative rock bands and acoustic music. I do listen to other genre too, though.
Anyway, so much for that... I'd like to share the original version of the song 214 here first. The video has lyrics, so you can understand why I like it. haha~ I'd totally fall for the lyrics of the song first then the melody *(if it's in English or my language), but if it's in Japanese and/or Korean, I'd fall for the melody first, then search the meaning of the song... then fall in love all over again. hahaha xD Here's the lyric video of 214 from Youtube.. <3
Oops... there might be some mistake on this video.. actually, the chorus' lyrics go this way...
The world could die
And everything may lie
Still you shan't cry
'Cause time may pass
But longer than it'll last
I'll be by your side
Isn't it great to have someone who will be by your side despite having all the other people turn their backs on you? It's reassuring and would make you feel better. In this world, we should really choose quality over quantity. It applies for people, things, and all other stuff.
Okay, I'm being my melodramatic and hopeless romantic self. haha.. So, before I lose my primary purpose, allow me to show you the rendition of Bamboo.
Damn that voice!!! What I love the most about Bamboo, is his soulful voice. Every utterance of the lyrics contain much soul in it. It definitely goes through your heart and even to every bit of your existence. No, I'm not exaggerating! That's what I feel every time he sings. I inevitable get goosebumps and my heart warms.
I guess it would be great to introduce great Filipino artists in this website, too. I want people to know how talented and awesome Filipino talents can be, too.
I hope you guys enjoyed it! See you next time... Time to go back to class... hahaha~
