Falling Down the Music Bunny Hole

in music •  6 years ago  (edited)

Every week I find myself drifting towards one artist who I can’t stop playing on my playlist. It's always different and most times a totally different genre. One week I’ll be bumping Flatbush Zombies and the next week I’m rocking out to Nirvana. But what my favorite type of music is the music I find when falling down, what I call, the ‘music bunny hole’. Kind of like how Alice fell down the bunny hole to Wonderland. Most of the music I find there is underrated artists that deserve a little highlighting. So that’s what I’m going to try and do here. Every week I’ll write a cute short article about some dope artists I found and share it with you and who knows maybe it’ll be the next artist you put on your playlist and can’t stop listening to. So with that said, let's jump into it... welcome to the music bunny hole….

Gus Dapperton:

Gus Dapperton is hands down one of my favorite artists that is super underrated. I mean this dude is really talented and every song I listen to of his I just love. So his genre is pop but not the pop you’re thinking about, its indie pop. His genre by others is labeled as bedroom, synth, electric dream, hypnagogic pop with a of new wave. Honestly I don’t know any of these genres let alone that they were genres but to put it in perspective he is in the same category as artists like: Peach Pit, SALES, Crumb.

What blows me away about this guy is that he is unsigned! Just an underground songwriter and recording artist from New York. So if you are hip to dream like 80s-influenced music and you love a man that rocks a bowl cut then you need to give him a listen.

Check out the links below, they are some of my favorites of his songs.
