A Selection of Classic Oldskool Jungle Cuts

in music •  6 years ago

Around 1994 the progression of the sounds being created by many breakbeat producers was well and truly culminating into what became known globally as Jungle.

Jungle took the musical style and ethos from the breakbeat hardcore rave sound pallet and brought in much more dub reggae and ragga influences along with, sometimes, extremely complex cut-up breakbeat patterns, mostly using the Amen Brothers break loop.

This sound was massive in the UK, exploding into the public consciousness from '94 and on into '95 and beyond. Here is a small selection of some my favourite Jungle cuts from this era.

Remarc - R.I.P. (1994)

The Dream Team - Stamina (1994)

Bizzy B & TDK - Wicked Man (1995)

Rude Bwoy Monty ‎– Out In Da Streets (1994)
