#WednesdayHouse: A selection of Lesser-known Acid House records from the late 1980s

in music •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi fellow Music-loving Steemians. This week I will be concentrating on acid house.

I"m sure many of you who are into electronic dance music and have delved into the history of this genre will probably have heard many of the classic acid house tunes that came out of Chicago during the late 1980s, tracks like Puture's Acid Trax, Derrick May's Acid Thunder, Adonis's The Poke and Kevin Saunderson's The Groove That Won't Stop but delve a little deeper and there is still a whole plethora of great quality tunes that didn't turn up on compilation CD. Below are a selection slightly lesser-known acid house tunes.

This music is still as raw sounding today as it was 30 years ago. Proper underground electronic dance music thats sure to get any sweaty back room writhing in ecstasy.

K. Alexi Shelby - Vertigo (original mix) (1989)

KC Flightt - Planet E (Acid Drop Mix) (1989)

Mr. Fingers - Washing Machine (1986)

House Gang - Work My Body (Remix) (1988)

Frequency X - Hearing Things (Deep) (1990)

Huge fan of older acid. Already familiar with KC Flightt and Mr. Fingers, but the others are new to me. Great selections. Resteemed because you deserve it.

Great Selection! :-)

I love the Traxx from that time. They are so beautifully free of all specifications.....
