I disagree. Certainly, it is important to bear in mind that while the Bible is infallible, a paraphrase is not. However, if you can't put something in your own words, then you don't understand it at all. In this life our understanding of the perfect truth of scripture will always be imperfect or at best incomplete. However, the longer we walk with the Lord, the more our understanding of His word will increase and be refined. Expressing what we understand the scripture to be saying is an important part of studying God's word.
