My name is Victoria. I came on here to share my love and knowledge of The Mayan Factor. Well, to share their story and mine.

The Mayan Factor formed in 2002, however in 2011 their vocalist passed away putting the band on hiatus. Three of the original members, Brian Scott (guitar), Kevin Baker (bass guitar) and Dan Angermaier were inspired by their fans. Last.fm and Reverbnation had so many plays. They found a new Konga player in Jason Sage and a new vocalist in Lenny Cerzosie Jr. It was Lenny that brought them the lyrics to “hOpe.” The words came to him when Brian created the opening riff to the song. It contains the last words Lenny spoke to his mother before she passed away from ALS. Everyone is going through something. It wouldn’t be life without love. It wouldn’t be life without loss. These are two things The Mayan Factor have experience first hand. However, they are back as independent artists. They are back with hOpe for their fans. With hOpe to live the dream of playing on stage for all of their fans worldwide.

Together they blend into an irresistible force of inspirational creativity. Bridging the abyss of unreal to real, the spiritually dead to the vital, these guys are genuine, their warmth contrasting with the vapid corporate chill of modern culture. Living samplers, each man engulfs a smorgasbord of musical styles but they never tack anything on just because they can. The music industry has been lost for a while. Genuine artists are hard to find. However, these guys are the real deal. It’s safe to say they are back and not going any where any time soon. There are two videos for hOpe. One animated and one shot in Mexico City where they also played some shows in and were welcomed with open arms. Their passion truly shows when they are on stage. Music is what they were born to do. To take feelings and put them to words. To take the words and put them to music that you will want to repeat over and over again. Music that you will never forget because it brings your brain, your heart and your body together.

These guys truly love and are dedicated to their fans enough to come back. So much that they friend them on Facebook. I mentioned to them that I couldn’t go watch live music any more due My chronic conditions (pancreatitis, diabetes). The Mayan Factor called me on FaceTime during their next rehearsal and played anything I wanted. The year they lost their vocalist, Ray was also the year I spent nearly 8 months in the hospital fighting for my life. They have such big hearts. The things they do screams genuine, heart-felt, and hope inspiring. The passion this band excudes should inspire other artists to be like them. This is what hOpe was created to do. To be an anthem for everyone going through something because life never ends. The circle of hOpe never ends. Those with hOpe always make it to the light.
