I have always been a really big fan of blues music.
I used to love watching the blues brothers when I was younger, it just seems to do something magical to the soul.
Naturally anything with that real blues feel to it I tend to love, there isn't really much blues music which I don't get in to.

If I ever went to America, New Orleans would be the first place I would go. I really wish we had somewhere similar in Australia.
Although I'm quite sure that if I did go to New Orleans I wouldn't want to leave.

I really like to listen to the classics in the morning for the drive into work, and for about the first 2 hours of work.
I find them really up lifting and they put me in a good mood no matter how challenging work might get. Then after that I will usually chuck on some Epic Music or Dark Country.

The classics never die, but they can be forgotten and sometimes your introduced to something you absolutely love.

I've never listened to a single David Bowie song before - these were some solid recommendations.

I have also received lots of great feed back, and interesting trivia from @mgood who is very knowledgeable on the classics I love.

The group, Dr Hook and the Medicine Show, wasn't very well known but they came out with a few hits.
I'm surprised they play their songs "down under".

Meddle was my choice for my most influential album in my challenge but Wish You Were Here is my favourite closely followed by Dark side of the moon.
The Wall freaks me out and Roger Waters lyrics are a little depressing. I still think its special though and I remember being transfixed on the artwork too. Comfortably Numb is technically an 80's track too!! Run Like Hell is a cool live track.

☠️ Otis Redding ☠️

 
Otis Redding was an American singer/song writer/producer/arranger. Otis redding was born in Georgia in the United States.
He is often considered one of the greats well known for his soul and R & B music, and I would have to agree with that.
He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Song Writers Hall of Fame and also received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

It's sad that he dies so young, as we never got to see the full potential of Otis Redding.
He died when a plane he was traveling in crashed into a lake due to bad weather conditions.

☠️ The Dock of The Bay ☠️

 
This is one of the absolute classics from Otis Redding.
When Otis Redding released this album it was ranked number 161 out of 500 on Rolling Stone magazines list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

I love this song because it's nice and soothing, and really easy to listen to.
The song also reminds me to appreciate the simple things in life. Too often we get caught up in the hustle and bustle, but sometimes it's nice to just do nothing and observe the world rolling by :)
 

☠️ I've Been Loving You Too Long ☠️

 
Here is another classic from Otis Redding which I really love.
The soul in this song is just incredible. This track is considered one of Otis Redding's best tracks, and it's hard to separate this track and The Dock of The Bay. I love them both equally.

I love the track for it's slow pace.
I also really love the way the instruments are used.
 

☠️ Cigarettes and Coffee ☠️

 
I really love this track too.
This track reminds me of what it was like when I used to smoke cigarettes. There was something about coffee and cigarettes that go so well together.
The only thing better than that combo was the trifecta of cigarettes, coffee and sitting on the porch first thing in the morning.
I know a lot of you can relate :)
