Swing in the Music

in music •  7 years ago

I am amazed on how music changes things, on how it shows the heart of the musician in the form of words and melody, and on how it goes beyond than mere dancing of notes.

I have written a lot of my travel and day-to-day snippets here in Steemit. And most of these posts show my love for photography. But, this one's gold for it's about my love for music too. I am not technically knowledgeable in music but here are my thoughts as a plain enthusiast.

1. Content/Lyrics

Whenever I'm doing something for leisure or working real hard on something I always listen to music. Even though I am not always on ears on the songs I listen to, I still pick up its content from time to time. This is why, it is important for me that it's not only the melody that is good to my ears but moreover its lyrics.

2. Melody, is it good to the ears?

I listen to a lot of genres. May it be pop, EDM (Electronic Dance Music), Hiphop, Jazz, Reggae, Folk, or Rock music. It actually depends on my mood or the weather whenever I'm choosing what album or playlist to listen to.

INDIE MUSIC

From one artist to another, I really became fond of listening to great pieces that I think real good and not just sell outs. Two years ago, a friend shared to me her favorite indie band. One song led to another and then I started browsing some platforms for indie music. Just this weekend I was able to go the single launch of one of my favorites.

Ian Penn

It was the first time I heard his music. It was nice, something you'd want to listen when rain is pouring out lightly and so lazy to go outside. Also, I liked how some of his songs he wrote on top of the mountains he hiked. He sings with his guitar and harmonica which makes his sound old.

They're on top of my favorites. Their folk music is charmed with their flutist. It was the second time I heard them sing live and I'd still go listen to them live if I could. Their songs speak of hopeful mornings, resilient walking and love, written beautifully in Tagalog (Philippines' prime language).

Shirebound and Busking

The man of the night! He launched his new single and finally I will be able to hear him in Spotify soon. I've been listening to his music through Soundcloud, it's a website where people can upload their covers and songs and listeners like me can freely hear it online. I liked his music, it's festive and at the same time calm.

If there's something I can say about her music is that it's new and whole. She plays alone, with her guitar and synth. I particularly like how I become expectant on the next sound whenever I'm listening to her song pieces.

I can't put into words how I love their music. But, do listen to them. You'll get it why.
