Hello my fellow Steemians.
Today I want to introduce you to my personal favorite song of all time, this song means a lot to me.
Snuff from Slipknot
A very dark, sad, but at the same time unbelievably significant and poetic song. I highly recommend you to check the lyrics. This sounds crazy but it’s incredible how someone can express so much pain in such a beautiful way, it gives me chills, each time. It is like you can feel, what he feels!
No wonder Corey Taylor (Slipknot singer) is called “mad genius”.
He said about this song:
“This is the slow one. It's another personal one. Again, not naming names, it's about someone who helped me through a lot and I thought she felt the same way that I did and then she really let me down. At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself. The lyrics are pretty self-explanatory".
The Video Clip is, in my opinion, breathtaking and shocking. Watch it here, let me know what you think. I will explain it further down in this post
The videoclip is feauturing Malcolm McDowell (he played in “Clockwork Orange” in 1971) as the concierge and Ashley Laurence, known from Hellraiser, as the Ex-Girlfriend.
OK, so the video is about a man (pictured by Corey Taylor) who broke up with his girlfriend, but can’t let go, he gets obsessed with her, stalks her, watching her in the dark outside and then even coming in her apartment. Smelling her clothes, trying to be close to her. On the TV there is a tape of them when they were happy, he sees it and breaks down. She is in the apartment, but does not notice him, she walks out and he tries to reach her but can’t. She goes out to meet someone. He stays in the apartment, finding a glass of wine she’s been drinking, he breaks it in his hands as he’s holding it too strong. He freaks out, breaks things and screams desperately. The end the video shows him, dressed as his ex as he exits the corridor, revealing it’s actually him, it’s been him all the time and his Ex wasn’t even there, he is missing her so much that he started to be her, just for the feeling of having her close. At the end you see the concierge, who is looking like he is wondering a little bit, he walks along the corridor and then whistles the melody of the song.
What do you guys think of this video? I think it is really madly genius, I absolutely love it!
