todays band I want to introduce to you are some German singing guys... well.. obviously from Germany. They play medieval rock/metal with funny lyrics and great melodies. "Feuerschwanz" translated in English would be called "Firetail" or if you translate it in another way "Firecock".
Feuerschwanz was founded in 2004 after frontman Peter Henrici had the idea of a funny medieval band as he thought that this scene is too serious and needs some parody band.
They invented a story for each bandmember in which he (Peter Henrici) is called "Hauptmann Feuerschwanz", in English "Captain Firecock". He is an old knight from the crusades and don't want to kill anymore. Now he just wants to drink mead and play with cats in his castle. That's the reason why an album is called "Mead and Cats" and why they have 2-3 women on the stage, dressed like cats when they play gigs.
The other singer, who also plays pipes and bagpipe is called "Prinz R. Hodenherz III", in English "Prince R. Nutsheart III". After he had sex with all women on his fathers castle he was sent out to form his character. That's when he met "Captain Firecock" and from then on they were called "Captain Firecock and his horny gang". The other band member have also their own background story how they joined this gang but i think these two examples are enough.

Through the years they created 7 full length album and are working on the eighth right now. Let me try to translate the titles in English:
- 2005: Prima Nocte --> The first Night
- 2007: Met und Miezen --> Mead and Cats
- 2009: Metvernichter --> Mead destroyer
- 2011: Wunsch ist Wunsch --> Wish is Wish
- 2012: Walhalligalli
- 2014: Auf’s Leben! --> To life! (Drink to Life!)
- 2016: Sex is Muss --> Sex is a must
Before they created the last album they were dis-invented from a concert because the organizer said they were to sexist and it wouldn't be funny. Because of that they called the next album "Sex is muss" which consist of the word "Sexismus" (in English: sexism). To be honest, compared to Steel Panther (what I posted yesterday), Feuerschwanz are not sexist at all. I really can't understand the decision of the organizer but I approve how Feuerschwanz reacted.
I'm sorry for the eyecatcher of the next video (that was not my intention) but this is the mainsong "Sex is a must" from the last album. The meaning of this song is that sex is no taboo-topic and that it's completely natural, i think that's also recognizable through the video :D
Personal experience:
I saw these guys two times within in the last 5 years and both times it was great. They know how to electrify the whole audience and bring some fans on the stage for interaction, no matter if it's the biggest stage on the whole festival. I love such bands with the focus on the fans.

Sounds like a lot of fun this band! For sure not the standard band. I also appreciate it very much when a band or artist is interacting with the public in lesser traditional ways.
