American musicians at the Gouvy Jazz and Blues Festival from August 3rd to 5th

The 39th Gouvy Jazz and Blues Festival will be held from August 3rd to 5th at the jazz club "La Madelonne" and under a marquee in Sterpigny-Gouvy. It programs, not only international artists, especially American, but also many Belgian musicians who find themselves on this occasion in a friendly atmosphere.

The festival will begin Friday, August 3 at 19:00 in Sterpigny, in the entity of Gouvy, a village on the northern border of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, not far from Houffalize, while concerts are scheduled the next two days respectively from from 17:00 to 16:00 The days of Friday and Saturday will be reserved for jazz and Sunday for the blues.

Friday's program will feature the quintet of American singer Sharon Clark, who will pay tribute to Sarah Vaughan, the quintet of Belgian pianist Eric Legnini, who will pay tribute to the American pianist and singer Les McCann, as well as the concert given by the American saxophonist Joe Lovano and the ensemble led by American trumpet player Dave Douglas.

On Saturday, the stage will be occupied by the trio of American saxophonist and percussionist Chico Freeman, by the ensemble of French pianist Lagaad Moutoz, by the quartet of Belgian trombonist Phil Abraham and by the group of Italian bassist Ricardo del Fra, who will pay tribute for the American trumpet player Chet Baker.

On Sunday, finally, the blues will be honored with Wille & the Bandits (UK), the whole of the French singer and guitarist Laura Cox, the American drummer and singer Tony Coleman accompanied by the keyboardist's Blues Band and Italian singer Henry Carpaneto, American singer and guitarist Marcus Malone and Innes Sibun's British Blues Band and American singer Sari Schorre accompanied by British band "The Engine Room".

The Belgian contribution will be fed, moreover, by the singer Chrystel Wautier, the group of flamenco-jazz "Golpes" the group "Hideaway", "Little Roman and the Dirty Cats" and by Ghalia and The Naphthalines.
