Tre Cool replaced John Kiffmeyer as Green Day's active drummer since their 2nd album release "Kerplunk" back in 1991. Green Day has been a part of the rock/punk scene since their early days and would frequent the venue "Alternative Music Foundation" located on 924 Gilman Street (AKA Gilman) in the band's hometown. The band's first few debut albums where released through the independent label "Lookout! Records" who was also home to other punk bands of the era, such as; Rancid, Sweet Baby, Squirt Gun, The Queers, Crimpshrine and many others.

Since their ground breaking album "American Idiot", Green Day's sound has changed radically and can be known as glam rock, but according to the band's Facebook page; they are still known as pop punk / rock / alternative. On September 10th 2019, the band released the self-titled single off of their new album.

At only 26 minutes in length, "Father of All Motherfuckers" could be considered an EP but at 10 songs it is technically a full-length album. With hit singles like "Meet Me on the Roof", "Father of All..." and "I Was A Teeenage Teenager", Green Day has solidified themselves into rock history.

Awesome. Dookie from the 90s was my gateway into punk. Glad they are still at it.
