Rap with Electronic Beats

Today is RapThursday again and I am showing you a track that includes rap parts but with electronic beats - the ones that you know me are aware I am more into electronic dance compared to Hip Hop or pure Rap music. This song is considered to be part of Eurodance which I only partly agree. I enjoyed it a lot when it was published in 1992 by Leila K. Who else likes this song?

Open Sesame was a huge success across Europe reaching local Top 10 chart positions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.

About Leila K.

Leila is a female Swedish rapper and singer born as Laila El Khalifi. She is of Moroccan descent and even born in Sweden was sent to Morocco for school by her parents. The experiment did not work and she returned soon to Sweden. Her musical career started when Rob'n'Raz discovered here in a music contest and offered her a recording contract back in 1988. She had major success in the first years across the continent together with Rob'n'Raz. After she broke up with them she moved to Ibiza where she set up concerts on her own, collaborated with Dr. Alban on his hit "Hello Afrika!"and started her solo career. "Open Sesame" was for sure her biggest success. Her last release was issued in 1997. Open Sesame was later covered by German U96 and Daisy Dee which you can watch and listen below.
