@soyrosa started a great challenge again about rockmusic in your native language.You can read all about it here. I selected a song of the Dutch band "De dijk". The song is called "Groot hart" which mean "Big Heart". Selecting the song made me thing about all the songs they made, and I can assure you it are a lot.
De Dijk is a band with it's origin in the 80's, and they are still making some great music although they are relying on old hits, which isn't a problem for me because the songs from the past are often the best :)
De Dijk is a local band from Amsterdam which sold a lot of albums and gig's of them are always sold out. The way Huub sings is a bit like a "troubadour"

The song "Groot hart" is one of my favorites. I don't know exactly what it is, but is the combination of the simplicity of the music with the great lyrics and voice of huub.

"Als ze er niet is" was (I think) one of their biggest hits in the Dutch charts. He tells that a guy doesn't know what he is missing until it's (she) is gone.

This clip show's Barry Hay (singer of The Golden Earing) One of Holland most succeful rockbands. He is performing "Mag het licht uit" as a ode to De Dijk. although he is doing a great job, I like the original better :)

One of the first basslines I learned was the bassline (and chords on guitar) of the next Song "Nergens goed voor".... This is a powerful song in all it's simplicity.

Very nice! I am definitely going to have to do some digging into this band on Spotify. I recently bought a subscription, so I have access to just about anything now!
