We even had official bandphoto's :)
Yesterday I wrote the first part of this post (which you can read here) about how I founded the band "Crazy Train" with some friends and how we started out.
So we were already rehearsing with only a drums, bass and guitar. We still didn't find a singer yet. The funny thing was that rehearsing without a singer could be quite tricky sometimes and made us pay close attention to the structure of the song, normally you have a singer who 'leads' the song and everyone knows where they are in the song :)
After a few weeks we got a mail from a guy named Gerrit. Gerrit had already played in a lot of (mostly metal) bands and wanted a new challenge, so he thought that a Ozzy tribute band would suit him. We were thrilled to finally had a reaction on our ad and invited Gerrit to 'audition' with us. When he arrived at our rehearsal studio we were pleasant suprised, there was this 'old rocker' with long hair and a big smile. He was very open and we talked for some time about music, bands in general and ambitions. Our ambition was to play every now and then on cool festivals or venues, we didn't had the intention to play every weekend. Gerrit agreed and said that he felt the same, he wanted to make music but not being on the road every weekend. So that thing was straightened out :)...
Gerrit had studied on three songs, so we went into the rehearsal room and started to play. We had to adjust a little to one and other but it sounded pretty ok for a first time. Although Gerrit had already played in several bands, he never did sing as a frontman :). So for him it was a new thing too, but he did great. He wasn't the world best singer, but that is the same for Ozzy :) But they both have charimsa ...
We thought Gerrit was a perfect match for the band and asked him if he thought the same, and he did so we finally had a leadsinger :). While we were still rehearing we talked about a band-name, cause we didn't had any still. Gerrit said "What about Crazy Train?" , for people it was immediately clear what Tribute band we were with that name :). We all thought it was a cool name.
So we registered the domainnam crazytrain.nl and put a website online. The bassplayer of the other band of Michael (drummer) was a graphical designer and Michael asked him if he wanted to design a logo for us. He did great job by using the font-type of Ozzy's 'Bark at the moon'for our logo.
Rutger (the graphical designer) wanted to take some pictures of us for on the site. So we went to the VSM , it's about 15 km's from where I live and it is a railway museum with a lot of steam trains, they still ride thise trains several day's a year. We thought it would great since our name was Crazy Train :)....
After some weeks we got an invitation by a venue if we wanted to play as a opening act for a other band. We thought that was a good moment to check if our setlist was big enough and if we managed to play everything the right way live......
To be continued
Have a great day and keep up that music !!

Very nice. Cool that you were able to find a train museum to get the pictures you needed for your promo material. I look forward to reading the next part!
