The Veldman Brothers, the ultimate blues brotherhood. For more than ten years at the top of the Dutch blues scene. The brothers Gerrit (guitar, vocals) and Bennie (Hammond, mouth harp, vocals) Veldman are all the time the unmistakable face of the band. Behind their rhythm brothers Fred van der Wende on bass and drummer Han Neijenhuis.
It is four (step) brothers. All four with a bucket of experience, but above all still with the same amount of experience, passion, energy and enthusiasm for the blues and related styles. The new, sixth album Refuel is again the tangible result. Eleven own songs in the best Veldman Brothers tradition. Pure and authentic. And only good reviews both at home and abroad.
But that is not the only thing. In early March 2017 the band won the Dutch Blues CD Award 2016 for the new album Refuel. That means Refuel is voted best NL blues album of 2016!
And that while The Veldman Brothers already have the necessary awards to their name. In 2012 The Brothers were awarded the award for best band. The album Livin 'by the Day was chosen in 2014 by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, USA in the international Top 5 of the best self-produced blues albums. And the four band members also received individual awards and / or nominations for their performances.
It is not for nothing that The Veldman Brothers is one of the most playing blues bands. In the Netherlands, but the band also plays in countries like Germany, Belgium and France.
