Real life struggles of an Artist

Often Indie music doesn't get played because it gets lost in an Ocean of content. But that doesn't mean you can find absolute Gems.

I'm a Fan of Indie music as well as an Indie Artist.

I like that you can hear the hunger, passion and unique sound of every single Indie Artist. You never know what you'll find. You may have to do some filtering to find your Indie Gold but it's out there.

These Artists are what drives our Industry.

But lots of Artists I know are depressed these days. It's a hard journey being a musician.

Even Stars who seam to have reached all their goals struggle with the realities of their life choice.

Lot's of Artists struggle with self esteem, confidence, addiction and financial problems. 4000 streams = around $20. Ouch

These details and hard facts continue to beat up sensitive Artists. It also costs us money to release our music on these Platforms. Soundcloud has free streaming and wants paid Artist membership. WTF?

We're doing what we love but for Free and or spending our money to do it.

But this is no Hobby to us. It's an obsession that we have invested money, time, work, energy and love into.

However most of us still work our day jobs because the income from music is so small.

Yet we are still here. Dreaming and working our asses off. Double duty.

We invest all this and more in the link you may ignore. Trust me we do not see ours hours of work as Spam and I am sorry if you do.

As a result we learn web design, graphic design, sound design, Video Production and Promo. We are juggling lots these days as Artists.

I find that drive inspiring. In fact it's what fuels me when I am at work. Pleasantly distracted listening.

So Artists. Keep your headphones on and stay healthy, strong and inspired. The World is a better place for you, your dreams and your efforts.

And Fans. Please press play. Or better yet download.

Because we have spent years to create this. All we ask for 4 minutes of of your time. Unless it's an Extended Remix. lol

Blessing to you all

20$ for 4000 streams is clearly uneconomical. The sensible reaction is to locate the door and leave. Seeing you on Steem shows that you are looking at alternatives already. Great. As soon as the crypto market recovers platforms like DSound and D.Tube, both based on Steem, will offer new opportunities. Now is the time to get ready.

Totally agree @mariusfebruary. The Main Stream road lead me to exploring the many crypto alternatives. Thanks for your comments. All the best to you

Yep! You said it all mate! So many great independent and often unrecognised artists out there, For me making music is hobby/obsession ... it would be great to quit my day/night job and do music full time but I often wonder if the passion would taper off with out that sense of struggle..... hmmmm 🤷‍♂️

@thomasrobertgent you raise a good point about the passion but I somehow think I could handle quitting my Day Job for music. ;) All the best bud

Haha! Yeah, I’m leaning in that direction to.
