I appreciate all of you that have been checking out my tunes weekly. Your wonderful comments and feedback mean the world to me. I also appreciate everyone's patience, as I ended up having simply too many irons in the fire this week. Therefore, this week I will be blogging about two songs.
This first tune was written about my partner. I'm sure many of you can relate. Sometimes or maybe all the time, when you look into the eyes of your person and they just are mesmerizing; as though time itself stops and as if for one moment, we live in a perfect, timeless moment in time. That's how this song came together.
The first verse describes in a simple manner, how we came together. The second verse refers to the trials that we've overcome in pursuit of our love. The third verse is a reflection on the endurance of our love. I tie the last two verses together with a bridge that focuses on the notion of temporal movement and commitment within the relationship juxtaposed through travel and the embers of a fire of love.
As the song unwinds at the end, I bring it on back for a reprise with a surprisingly motown-esque groove.
I envision having a horn section and strong keyboard part on the album.
Look out for song number 10 coming up next...
