Westlife is an boyband from ireland formed in 1998, and disbanded in 2012, Westlife started in 1996 in Sligo, a small town north of ireland, 3 teenagers, Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily are often active in theater activities at ummerhiii college, the three teenagers got the lead role in a grease drama and their appearance was a great stepping stone, after the show, when they practice vocals while joking, suddenly mary mcdonagh approached her and said. When they will given a name..... mary gives a very strange name that is "6 as l" (Kian Shane, Mark, Derek, Michael, and Graham).
in 1997, the six of them began performing in theaters in Sligo and many people instantly love with this new boy band. their fans in sligo continue to grow. In August 1997, "6 as 1" performed with songs from Boyzone and Backstreet Boys in front of over 500 people, but, they have one complaint, people didn't like the name of his boy band, so they decided to change their boy band name to "iou".
then "Iou" recorded a single entitled "to get a girl forever", a local TV news show aired the show and turned out their performance attracted the attention of "Louish Walsh" (Manager and pop band group most successful in europe), chance to be the opening band of the Backstreet Boys concert is a big surprise for iou. Fans of Backstreet Boys as 9,500 people were satisfied with the appearance Iou, unfortunately there is one problem again...... Although iou already good but Shane, Kian and Mark voice not match with the other three personnel, therefore, some changes have been made......
and the changes is the decision to break "Iou"........
After the decision to break iou, Shane, Kian, and Mark appear as a "Trio". But apparently there are still less than the sound of the three of them. They feel there needs to be an additional vocal to make their sounds really harmonious. So audition was held in Dublin, Ireland to find the fourth personnel. Hundreds of young singers who enthusiastically participated in the audition, including Nicky Byrne and Bryan Mcfadden, Nicky and bryan had actually been friends. They both often dreamed of being a member of the group and since childhood, hey hope they can be eligible, but only one person sought, butut luck is sided with them......
Finally Nicky and Bryan became "Iou" personnel, to start a new step. they changed the name of this boy band for the third time. Their boy band's name is "Westside" (which is a tribute to sligo, shane's hometown, increasingly, and a mark on its westside of Ireland). wait what WESTSIDE....?????....
Shane, Kian, mark, bryan and nicky as westside did not last long. Because the name "Westside" has become the name of the old band group, therefore, the five cool guys are forced to change the name of his boy band for the fourth time. This time they choose the name of "Westlife".
Westlife In July 1998, began performing around the UK with Boyzone and in October they received awards and smash hits award magazine as "best new tour act".
in April 19, 1999, their single "Swear it Again" became a best seller, with the release of the second single "if i let you go", westiife managed to become the first boy band whose two singles topped the UK charts, but they are not satisfied to get there. The third, fourth, and fifth singles also managed to sit in the first rank of the UK charts and is a great success that no band group ever felt in the UK.
After about 7 years together, finally Bryan Mcfadden decided to go out and Westlife.....
This decision is very unfortunate by many people and fans, especially Westlife colleagues. Bryan chose to spend most of his time with his family with former Atomic Kitten member Kerry Katona, although they later split up and he changed the spelling of his first name to "Brian", he also choose as a soloist career. though it felt so heavy, but Shane, Nicky, Kian and mark can accept it, if it's the best, since August 19, 2005, Bryan officially abandoned Westlife and no longer is a Westlife personnel.
Westlife also won four consecutive ITV "Record of the Year" awards with their singles "Flying Without Wings", "My Love", "Mandy", and "You Raise Me Up". On the MTV TRL show, the video clip "Swear it Again" was asked several times, and entered on the hot 100 "hot 100" chart in one of the magazine's 20th edition US magazine (Billboard Magazine).
