The legendary popular jazz song: My Funny Valentine

in music •  7 years ago  (edited)

My Funny Valentine is a song which turns from Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s musical Babes in Arms. This song had appeared over 1300 albums performed by over 600 artists. It became the popular jazz standard.

My Funny Valentine was inducted into the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry in 2015 to commend it’s cultural artistic and historical significance of American society and the audio legacy.

Lyrics :
My funny valentine
Sweet comic valentine
You make me smile with my heart
Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
Yet you're my favorite work of art

Is your figure less than greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?

But don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little valentine stay
Each day is valentines day

Is your figure less than greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?

But don't you change one hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little valentine stay
Each day is valentines day
