Last night, I recalled a name I hadn't in many years.
SERPENTFLY.
Mid-meditation on Animal Superpowers at a neighbor's house in Valencia, Spain--- where I am currently based (my neighbor kindly offers community meditations regularly in her living room) I recalled the epithet I carried for many years, the name of a self-discovered creature, a being difficult to summarize, named SERPENTFLY. Serpentflies (who are actually always singular even when written about in a coquettish, plural form) do not like much to be written about, but they are most like, in mythological comparison, the Toltec's/Aztec's QUETZALCOATL or Lao Tzu's PENG. If you're curious who they are in a literary sense.... I'll leave you to hunt that info yourself.
This early morning, I wished to remember my own life as SERPENTFLY-the-artist, so I did a little search-engine vision quest. I pulled up a variety of posts, show reviews, feature articles, album info, etc. all about SERPENTFLY.
In the midst of this, I discovered something on Amazon that I'd actually seen not long ago on Ebay and other similar mega-store sites, which inspired this post.
Amazingly, while I have about 10 unopened boxes of my 2004 CD in parents' garage to this day---- I notice that Amazon is selling one of these "vintage releases" for a price of $64.95/each.

I'm the first to admit, I definitely was irresponsible in the earlier days of my artistry and gave my record label or local distributors the right to receive any money for my music or revenues, and pay me post their cut, for my grass-root (but international) releases. The world of music-on-the-internet was quite different in the earlier days, and figuring out how to have my music on i-tunes, etc. was something easier, I thought, for a label to handle--- I was focused "only on the music" in a very literal, hands-on sense. However, now--- I am recalibrating.
So ready to be more directly in charge of my creations, musical and otherwise....
Slow-learning but ready to do this!
