[Music Discovery] All Along The Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

All Along The Watchtower is a song originally recorded and written by the legendary Bob Dylan, although I and many others most strongly associate the song with The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Recorded for Electric Ladyland with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, it was released just six months after Bob Dylan's original version. Hitting the top 20 in 1968, the song has also been called one of the greatest songs of all time.

    Prefer the jimi version - much more rocky!

    Theres actually heaps of good covers of this after searching youtube. Eddie vedder and john mayer both did great covers!

      I love the John Mayer cover! I knew it was a popular song to cover, but didn't realise quite how many there were.

        I do like some Dylan but almost always like Hendrix... so my vote is Jimmy on this one.

            I love Eric Johnson's cover. He gives a personal touch to the song. And he even uses a lap steel guitar.
