I WANNA BE A MUSICIAN. PART 1

‌I was never raised in a musical family whom always thought that I could be a fireman, doctor, a teacher or any of those bright future self rising star to my family. Who would've thought that I could write or play my own music?

‌I discover music through boybands like BSB, Nsync, 911, Boyzone and New Kids On The Block AND THESE ALL BECAUSE OF MY SISTER'S PLAYLIST, THEY EVEN HAD THEIR POSTERS ON THE WALL! I was fortunate enough to listen through cassettes tapes, felt like I was the last generation for it. Time drastically fly so quick even the wind couldn't catch it.

‌After listening to boybands! I was evolving by listening to some modern rock bands. My junior school pal(CURRENTLY IN THE SAME BAND) was listening to Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. In that time I only knew about Limp Bizkit! Still wanna be like Fred Durst! Cool Shirt, Cool Baggy Pants, Cool Adidas shoes and most of all His Great Signature New York Cap. Chocolate Starfish and Hot Dog Flavored Water was the first tape I got. Moving forward in a short period of time, my junior school friend introduced me this new band called Linkin Park. Hybrid Theory was their 1st official album. 1st song, Papercut. Immediately hooked! Because I never heard that kind of music before, it totally change my mind. From LB TURNS TO LP. Okay what's next?

‌Still listening to LP, still trying to be Mike Shinoda or Joe Hahn. Haha. But then, the same junior school friend introduced me to another band called A.C.A.B. The 1st Malaysian Skinhead Bands I knew. Their music is much different, it's aggressive, it's punk, it's rebel, it's heavier than LP and LB. I am surprised.

‌I still can't play any musical instrument.
‌Still wondered how a guitar looks like! Not until I saw my big brother's guitar. It was a small acoustic guitar, couldn't remember what named it was. That was it, I was excited, I want to learn. Asked my dad to buy me a guitar chord book, it's funny because i only learn on 2 pages of chords ONLY! I gave up cause my fingers is hurt. I left the guitar alone.

‌High school days was inevitably the best year ever! While still listening to Skinhead bands, I discovered a punk rock band called Green Day, in my days I thought they were like new bands to me, never thought they were earlier than LP and LB. American Idiot was the album. Immediately hooked again. This time I really wanna play a guitar! Enough with that chord book shit, let me just watch what kind of chords do they play on tv. Somehow it works! The chord is different than in the book I used to learn to, it's easy it's melodic. Wow! Goodbye chord book.
