Music Monday (feel free to add your own tracks)

The aim is simple, to banish those Monday blues with an eclectic range of music chosen by Steemit friends both old and new.

Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture its true essence.

As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

Hope everyone is well and has enjoyed a really good week? So this week I thought I'd select a track by Baxter Drury, whom some might recognise as the son of the one and only cockney poet Ian Drury. He's certainly a chip off the old block (pun intended for anyone that gets it) but a man that's also carving out his own niche. Whilst I imagine it's a bit of a marmite sound .. its one I've been very much enjoying. Indeed, hearing shades of his father within his music and stylisation recalls childhood memories of sneaking off to listen to my Dad's (adult) Drury tapes .. ah tapes, those were the days! :) I hope you enjoy.

Love the Baxter Drury track. Class!
I used to own a couple of Aimee Mann albums. Haven't played her in a long while.

Hey my friend, glad you enjoyed my choice this week .. love his sound, really unique. Never heard of Aimee Mann before but enjoying the melody and vocals on this one. One of those tracks that takes me on a bit of a self retrospective, especially as I've been known to do some stupid things in my time! lol Thank you for the music my friend .. a great track to while away my time to. :)

That sound put me in the mood to hear The Talking Heads song Take Me To The River.

Hey my friend .. I hope you've enjoyed a good week. :) And yes I can see where you're going with the Talking Heads .. the two tracks complement each other very nicely! Talking Heads are an awesome band and this is a great track, very nicely chosen. Now you've put in the mind to delve into their back catalogue! Thank you for the music @sunlit .. I really enjoyed this one.

Loved his dad and this one from Baxter is a joy :)
Mine is somewhat tongue in cheek

Hey @ricia haha .. I keep laughing and then hearing some of the lyrics and feeling a little guilty lol But in the end the laughs won through! Thank you for the music my freind .. it definitely brought a smile to my face. lol

Jokes aside, I'm certainly not saying its happening, but I was just looking at Italy on the news, makes you think it would be a convenient time for them to pick out a few thorns in their side .. lockdown, news blackout, virus cover.

Oh they are doing that! Italy has same genome as target Iran. They have identified at least two but probably more viruses in action in different countries - maybe 5 in US. The oldest is the one associated with bats. Watch Lina Pu and The last American Vagabond. Keep on laughing and buy an oxymeter!
