Music Monday (feel free to add your own track)

The aim is simple, to banish those Monday blues with an eclectic range of music chosen by Steemit friends both old and new.

Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture its true essence.

As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

Hope everyone is well and has enjoyed a really good week? So it's been a long day at work so this week I've gone for a bit of a wake up call .. a hip-hop/rave fusion kind of ting (whoops thing :) ) that's bound to blow away the cobwebs, and if you like scratching (the record not the eczema variety) then look no further. Anyway, the hour is late .. so I'll let the music do the talking. I hope you enjoy! Oh .. and for anyone that's interested, I'll have a new post out tomorrow/wednesday at the latest!

Ah yes! I wonder why this post surprises me every week!

I have written about this band but never shared it on your post I think.

With Huey Lewis and The News coming out with a new album this year, and Huey suffering from an illness that will prevent touring, these guys have perfect timing.

My buddy D is the singer for The Power of Huey and here is a little promo they did as an intro and to drum up some gigs. Enjoy!

I haven't heard any Huey Lewis since the back to the future days (I know they're big but they never really took off in the UK) but that sound is an unmistakable refreshing blast from the past (even though its not them lol) .. good to see they're still going and I hope Huery get's better soon, but your friend certainly sounds equipped to pick up the slack .. great stuff! Thank you for the music my friend .. enjoyed tapping my foot along to this one :)

When I started listening to your pick this week my thinking was the beginning sounded like a sped up version of the song Shaft....(could be being played backwards, lol, given the looks of things), so this week I'll pick Shaft and see if others see similarity.

Haha yeah .. I see what you mean lol Then again, there is never a bad time to hear a bit of Shaft .. so I'm grateful for your keen ear and great choice of music! Big fan of the funky sounds and 70's Blaxploitation cinema .. Count Blacula .. is another forgotten gem :). Shaft is of its time, yet its also a timeless classsic, thank you for sharing and thank you for the music! Well chosen.

I'd have to agree. The beginning does sound similar.

Sorry, not my thing this week. Never could get into the frenzy of rave;) looking forward to your article though!
Here is my choice:

Hey no problem there @ricia .. the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same, the only genre I'm nor really into is opera .. hence it can be a hit and miss of genres on here. Always loved a bit of Caravan though, golf girl os also great .. but my favourite off this album has to be the title track (above). Think these guys are still going aren't they? If not they were a few years back. Loved this track and the trup dowhn memory lane, thanks you for the music my friend! :)

Yes i saw them on yt looking for this. I love every track on the album - I was called Pat in those days, so golf girl was kind of my tune amongst the group, but title track a biggie too. Saw them in Edinburgh in 74 (I think it was) brilliant. They looked like this then

Ha small world :) and yeah, bet they were great live .. I've always loved their eccentric/psychedelic style lol. Another great track! Wish I was stoned is also a cool one.

Good one...dunno if the neighbours liked it though...now where are those headphones?
Here's another bangin' tune:

Haha glad you liked and I hope you've enjoyed a good weekend, an inspired choice and a classic track this week my friend .. been a while since I've heard that beat .. hypnotic :) and equally nrings back some great memories. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the music .. a listening pleasure.
