Hello @shawnsporter, and nice to Steem you! :-) In order to answer, I hope you'll allow me copying what I've just shared through a short article today:

I consider https://musicoin.org to be the most reliable blockchain-based streaming platform to date, this for an array of reasons, among which are the following ones:

NO ICO: Like the “Good elder ones” (Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero, DigiByte) the Musicoin project never organized an Initial Currency Offering (ICO), a process which has often artificially inflated many crypto-based initiatives, both in their monetary value and their marketing promises, reverting the logical order of their growth (they harvested a lot of money on the basis of an advertisement campaign, not on a working product); on the contrary, since its launch in February 2017, Musicoin has been growing with an astonishing discretion, without investing a sole dollar or crypto in ads, and at a pace which will never be affected by the bulls, bears, whales and any other zoological oddities;

AN ORIGINAL BLOCKCHAIN: yes, the Musicoin blockchain was born out of the Ethereum one, and shares whith its “mother” most of its features, but its emancipation from its parent chain, 1 and a half year ago, gave it the opportunity to mature, undertaking 3 successful hard forks, and to serve the artists autonomization (100% rewards for them) with the full power of its blockchain. Literally, it’s as if one dApp only was running on the Ethereum “main chain”: the Musicoin streaming service. As a result, the number of daily transactions still could climb up to 10 times the current one, without affecting the platform efficiency;

A VIBRANT TEAM (“CommuniTeam” ;-) ), composed of highly skilled project managers (most of them BEING musicians) and dozens of Ambassadors from all over the world, sharing on a daily basis their ideas and experiences.

To summarize it, we prefer lasting than trending ;-)
