7-day wayback music challenge: Day 1 – Wuthering Heights – Kate Bush

@steevc nominated me for this challenge, and I do accept as I’m a mad music freak and he knows it.

Now I'm showing my age and this is probably one of the more respectable picks, as my musical tastes have changed significantly since 1978 when this monster hit the UK charts and stormed to the top.

My memories.. Initially, what the hell is this, and why is it at the number #1 slot?

Nobody had heard anything like her before, she was unique. The song grew on me rapidly despite some of my 'friends' literally loathing it. I didn't care on their opinions and still love it to this day and her too. There's nobody quite like Kate.

I nominate @steddyman for this challenge!

The rules:

  • Choose one song from your high-school/college years.
  • Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (was it a breakup song? you blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want.
  • Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you where writing and submit it.
  • Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated
  • Mention one person who should do this on each day.
  • Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post

She was pretty young when she did that. A true original.

I will have to check out some Kate Bush when I get to my office on Monday. I usually look for something new(to me) and unique to start my week off.
