@steevc nominated me for this challenge, and I do accept as I’m a mad music freak and he knows it.
This one is so old it takes me back to primary school. Music held my interest from a very early age, and it was likes of Slade, Nazareth, David Bowie, Mud, Suzi Quattro and Gary Gli.. (er.. we will just leave the last one out shall we?), that had my attention.
One of my friends, who was probably the brightest lad in the class had other tastes. He liked Roxy Music, Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep and ELO. You have to remember in 1974, ELO had not really made it to the big time and few people were aware of them.
I still think his tastes were strange for a young lad, but years later I was to also appreciate these bands and their music. ‘Street Life’ was one such song I recall him playing and I thought it ‘weird’ at the time.
I nominate @bozz for this challenge!
The rules:
- Choose one song from your high-school/college years.
- Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (was it a breakup song? you blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want.
- Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you where writing and submit it.
- Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated
- Mention one person who should do this on each day.
- Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post
If you found this article so invigorating that you are now a positively googly-eyed, drooling lunatic with dripping saliva or even if you liked it just a bit, then please upvote, comment, resteem, engage me or all of these things.
Thanks for the nomination. It's funny you mention ELO, they are awesome! I will do my best to bring something decent each day!

I have an ELO song in the pipeline for this challenge. It's still my favourite track by them today. That's likely to be tomorrows song.
