I think the first thing to note about the answer to this question is that I believe we would see a dramatic shift in the content which would be created on Steemit if the content was no longer rewarded, I believe that we would see the reduction in the overall amount of less than quality content being produced, this is because I believe a lot of people who post solely to milk rewards would no longer be incentivized, we would only see users who love to blog continue to post on the platform, this doesn't mean it would be great content, just that more passionate user's would remain. I would use Steemit to keep up to date with the latest news and follow the authors I enjoy, but don't believe there would be as much to content as there is now and therefore because of this wouldn't visit it as much.
I would visit some of the other sites on the blockchain such as Steemhunt, Utopian, Musing regularly because they're more focused on my personal preferences and could be compared to sites I visit regularly off the Steem blockchain.

Yes, of course. There are lots of interesting people who blog there, and I would keep reading their posts daily. But unfortunately I think Steem would be dead pretty soon if it stopped paying, so it's a good thing that it won't.

The truth is most of us is here for the money.
Nobody can deny that!
However, this is one of the greatest problems of the blockchain.
Why is the engagement down?
Because we have a lot of writers and bloggers and not enough readers.
This has to do with the fact that Steemit is marketed as a way to make money, not as a way to get great content. It also has to do with the fact there are $ signs everywhere on the posts, which constantly reminds the readers that they could be earning by writing rather than reading.
These are two important flaws that make the large majority leave if they don't earn rewards.
If there were no rewards, I'd probably quit Steemit myself.
