Uhm, no, English is a language, not a country. Are you thinking of England perhaps? The answer is still no, by the way.

England or London including Muslim countries, the number of Muslims in the UK for the first time penetrated the figure of three million, based on data obtained from the National Statistics Agency in Britain.

Islam is the second largest religion there. Britain's Muslim population in 2011 reached 2,786,635 people. This number is more than 1.55 million people compared to the results of the 2001 census.

In 2014 the Muslim population in the UK was estimated to increase to 3,114,992. About half or 1,554,022 people were born abroad. Throughout Britain and Wales the Muslim population is 3,047,000 or 97.8 percent of all British Muslims or 5.4 percent of the total population.

Nearly 95 percent of Muslims live in a country now led by Queen Elizabeth II, the first daughter of the previous British ruler, King George VI. Three quarters of Muslims live in London, Yorkshire, and Humberside. The 2011 Census shows, there are 77 thousand Muslims in Scotland, 46 thousand people in Wales, and 3,800 Muslims in Northern Ireland. Some of them are native English.

In 2011 the UK had 100,000 people who had just embraced Islam. As many as 66 percent of them are women. Islam is the fastest growing official religion in the UK.

Between 2001 and 2009, the Muslim population increased almost 10 times faster than the non-Muslim population. The majority of those in Britain are affiliated with the Sunni theologically. Meanwhile, others are Shiites and Ahmadis. The largest British Muslim groups are immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh. Besides that, they also come from India, Arabia, Kurdish, Turkish and African.
