I know this question might have an issue obvious answer. Yet, it's one that's laudable still.
I have used an internet-enabled phone since 2009 and I don't think I'd be able to go up to a weekly without it.
My life revolves around the web. It's the source of my income, news, social life and lots more.
It's so addictive that I sometimes wonder how our grandparents were able to survive without it.
I remember once when I had my phone damaged while I was out camping. I had no money to fix it as it was a screen problem. The cost of replacing it was so expensive I couldn't afford it. I needed to spend three weeks in the camp and this stuff happened just the first week.
Those were the two most miserable weeks of my life.
I had to resede to my second most common activity which was reading bit even reading has its extent. I felt like the whole world was going faster me on fast forward motion while I crawled behind.
However, the experience made me get in touch with the real world better. I think society stands the risk of having people with no empathy because of the badly simulated reality that exists online. There are e-friends, internet games and lots more than everyone now feels they can exist alone.
We need to get back to track soon or else we lose what makes us humans, the emotional part of us.
