How did Jack Ma change the mindset of the people and the Chinese government?

How can Jack Ma, the founder of the world's second largest marketplace, Alibaba, be able to change the mindset of the Chinese people and government with e-commerce from the Alibaba Group, like Taobao or TMall?

Ethereum starts as a single Blockchain (think of it as a single Lego tower that piles up constantly). There are various applications that can be built on Ethereum, and one of these applications is a decentralized company called DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). DAO operates like a hedge fund, basically raising funds to invest in the development of other applications. Unfortunately, DAO was hacked and more than 50 million dollars were stolen.

At this point, the core developer has 2 options:

  1. Allowing continuation of the chain, because the nature of the Blockchain is that it cannot be changed.
  2. Reverse transactions to prevent hackers from stealing profits from stolen funds.

It was unanimously approved by the developing team and the majority of participants in the system to choose the second option. Now to apply the second option, a hard fork is needed. The hard fork is the solution of the original Blockchain into two chains: the original chain and the new chain. Ethereum Classic (ETC) is the original chain and Ethereum (ETH) is a new chain.

Core developers including founders continue and develop new chains and now when someone talks about Ethereum, they are referring to a new chain. Those who are attached to the original chain (ETC) - a small community, ideologically oppose any changes imposed on the Blockchain because they think that nature should not change (not easily change).

Are there real differences?

In terms of functionality, the two chains are the same because they come from the same chain. This is more an ideological difference. But it is important to note that in terms of progress, the new chain will be more equipped with the latest updates and continuous improvement of the system because the core developers work on ETH, a new chain. From the user's point of view, it is very important to use a platform that has constant monitoring and improvement of the developing team. From a merchant's perspective, both coins can benefit from.
