SEO is very important to us, and recently we've been devoting time to improving on this front. Since we're still quite new, our SEO strength isn't anywhere near its capacity. I wouldn't count on massive viewership yet, but we'll be there eventually for sure.
Fundamentally, the best way to improve our search rankings is simply to write good unique content on your answers. The questions also play an important role. In particular, it's better to ask and answer questions that have niche topics as opposed to general questions like "What is happiness?" The reason is that there are already so many questions about happiness asked on the internet, that it would be pretty much impossible for us to rank for such a basic question like that.
Thanks for the reply! Do tags play any role in it maybe?

Agreed, I'll try to apply it to my Q's as much as I can. Placing high on browser searche is imo, what is going to bring Musing a big audience so it's only logical that we, the users, try to focus on making it happen.
You're exactly right, that SEO is going to be what brings us a big audience. And yeah, I believe tags can help. Not sure right now to what extent, however, but they should only help.
Ok first things first, you have to understand how Google search engines work.
So Google search works by using a special algorithm which determines how relevant a particular page is to a search. They have a large index of keywords and just exactly where those words can be found. What truly sets them apart is their page rank system which is used to determine which page shows up first on the search list, understanding how this works is key to answering this question.
Page ranks are determined by the following
1. Frequency and location of keywords within the web page: The word has to appear multiple times on the page or else it will receive a low score
2. How long has the web page existed: Pages that have well established history receive better scores than pages that were just created.
3. The number of web pages that link to that particular web page: The relevance of the web page is determined by how many other pages are linked to that web page.
Ok now to answer your question, the chances of musing showing up on a google search aren't bad, but they aren't good either. Musing is still in its infancy and is limited to only steemit users for now so it hasn't gained as much traction as it should have.
As for what it depends on, I think I answered that with how Google search works.
Finally and most importantly to boost our Q/A browser ranking we have to publicize musing, every question that's answered should be shared on Facebook, Twitter and Reddit or wherever more people can see it. Like I stated earlier, the more web pages that are linked to a web page, the higher it's page ranking. It may take a little time, but at this point I think we're up to the task.
We should definitely share our muses on other social media websites. That could possibly bring a lot of direct trafic and boost the SEO itself. Good point. Thanks for the answer!
