I think so.

Depending on the country, the car fleet average age is something like 5 to 8 years. So by 2030 the average production year of the cars on the road will be somewhere around 2025.

Lots of car manufacturers are developing the hybrid and electric models for both economic and political reasons. Even though Tesla is a complete hype machine, it is pushing the idea of electric cars as normal into the population.

So by 2025 we will see a large number of electric cars being produced and by 2030 with governments continuing to crack down on emissions we might even see a majority electric car fleet by that time.

Yes, It may not be 30% but could possibly be more.
In this current year, the entire world is in crisis as we are are struggling from the rising temperature and global warming. The transportation modes do play a major role in the CO2 emission and contributing to the global warming. While many countries are already looking for the clean source of energy, there are many who are joining the cause and I strongly believe that the world will come together to fight this. As for the Electric Cars, I think it is safe to assume that the manufacturer will be joined or made to change the idea around to fit the clean energy source.
Plus I want to see the future where the cars are completely automated and run on electricity. :-)

Greetings from India

the batteries use lithium which requires mining which is bad and also requires alot of fossil fuels

Yes I definitely agree to this fact. I also suspect it could even be something more than electric cars. By the way the world is going now, there is a high possibility that there can be inventions that can produce enormous amount of energy with less efforts.

For example, NASA has been working on a concept called Mercury Vortox Engine to take space travel to the next level. If they end up successful, the propulsion system will have a great breakthrough. Similar breakthroughs can even happen in our regular transportation syustem as well.

it would definetaly be really good for our nature

Yes but not happens so fast

I really hope this happens by 2030. But I guess we just have to wait and find out for ourselves.

I agree, as i am speaking i am beginning to see some electric cars on the road and that shows

that people have already started embracing the

electric cars,so the analysis that said by 2030 that thirty percentage of cars will be electric cars is

correct because electric cars are becoming

popular, the new trend of electric cars will affect oil

sales because it will reduce the demands for many oil products including petrol,so it will

negatively affect those that are into oil business, but the good thing about rhe electric

cars emerging is that is makes it easy to maintain it and also it will enable people to spend less on

the car because they no longer need to buy petrol or diesel for their various cars
