Absolutely not.  A proper university degree (honorary degrees don't count) simply means that a person completed a specific course of study, by passing a certain set of classes.  The degree merely serves as an indication that the university is satisfied that the recipient of said degree is sufficiently competent in their chosen field of study.  While certain jobs may request or require that an applicant have a degree in a specific field, the degree by itself cannot predict the future career path and/or success of the person who earned it.

Some of the [arguably] most successful people in the world never got proper degrees.  Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard, Paul Allen dropped out of Washington State University, and those two co-founded Microsoft and would both eventually become multi-billionaires.  Many wealthy celebrities in the entertainment industry never got degrees (e.g. pop music stars Taylor Swift and Katy Perry).  On the flip side, there are many people who graduated with one or more degrees but either couldn't find work or could only find menial jobs with low pay.

I myself am one of those people who couldn't get a job after getting a university degree in financial economics and being eligible to sit for the CPA exam.  I ended up going the self-employment route, doing various things online, before eventually getting into casino gambling.  My university degree has thus far contributed nothing towards my success in life, and the only scenario in which I could see the degree possibly enhancing my chances of career success would be if I were to find a job working in an East Asian country like China or Japan.

No. There are many successful people who didn't go to school and there are also people who have University degrees who are still unsuccessful. Being successful is not dependent on your UNiversity degrees or grades. You must probably have heard about Steve Jobs, who without University grades became incredibly successful. Getting University degrees is just an edge to put you on the go to become successful. It is up to you to decide to be successful or not. Your degrees do not determine whether or not you become successful, but your hardwork, determination, consistency and other factors put together.

The degree does not determine a person's success. It is just another way of rating an individual in a society. In most countries many people end up having lots of degrees and still remain jobless or become self employed in a field that does not relate to their university degree.

No, I do not think university degree determines the path of success toward any person. As a list of paper cannot determine our future. Degree decides 40% of our carrier if we are going to work in particular field and rest 60% if we want to achieve success in life we need skills of better understanding, maturity, to use our brain in any situation, motivational skills all are required for our success, not the university degree.

Is a university degree just for showing other people and for interviews no a days as people do not ask after some years f graduation was I studying? They only look after the success of our life as in my nation India nowadays degree are getting in a sale for many people they just but degree with higher marks by giving some money. So I think there is no value of degree nowadays instead we may go to another field for getting success else we can only get a better job from our degree and to complete others dream or successful life we need to work not ours.

Spirit and hard work are important things that must be possessed. Not just an undergraduate degree that can be used as the main foundation. Tenacity is also required to be successful in the world of work. The attitude of humility is your provision to climb the career path later. Self-confidence is like ammunition when you want to start your own business. No need to feel inferior, even though education is low. Education will take you to the interview level only. Furthermore, integrity and work ethic determine everything. Although many people have higher education degrees, aren't those who survive are dedicated people?
