I know this is gonna sound crazy, but maybe the reason they became so successfully is because they don't have a patent on them, meaning that anyone can make them thereby reducing the price to a worthwhile one. Who would have thought that reducing the costs of production increases the rates of production? Why even have economists if no one listens to them -_-
