Why do we do the things we do? Is it by random chance or do we do them because we want to do them? Sometimes I wonder if we are truly a product of our choices or we are "predestined" to be where we are.

So many people have abused the concept of predestination and as such they've ended up on the wrong side of life. I always believe if people were predestined for certain things, does that mean nothing can change that even until they fulfil that agenda? Take for example, a man predestined to become a president, what will happen if he gets killed before he becomes a president?

Similarly, on the issue of marriage, I am of the strong opinion that there is no predestined partner. The reason is this: let's say one man is destined to marry one wife, with the population indicating that we have more women than men, what will happen to the remaining women? Does that mean certain people were never destined to marry? Does that mean that some people will certainly marry? What will happen if one partner dies and the other remarries?

Sometimes I wonder when people leave certain things to fate, saying "if it is meant to be, it will." I often wonder how the logic of if a bird belongs to you, you'll let it go and it will return to you, how that theory works. I can say for certain that when I was young, my mum bought Pidgeons as pets and they flew away when they met other pidgeons...lol, I know the proverb wasn't talking about literal birds but you get the point?

The truth is to get to the point which you believe you are destined for, you have to work for it tirelessly. Afterall, good things come to those who wait go out and get it.
This belief about waiting for your "alloted destiny" to find you is a strong factor why Africa is backwards.

Make no mistake, I am not saying people are not destined for greatness, I am simply saying you don't wait for it to locate you, you go out and locate it instead. Of course timing is important, patience is a virtue here but remember one other thing; you find it for it to find you.
