THIS IS THE ONLY LESSON WE'RE POSTING so please read or you'll miss out!

Izzy Avraham here, the Director of Holy Language Institute. 2020 was my best year yet and I haven't told anyone why until today. For over a year now I've been hiking the dirt roads along Albuquerque's arroyo canals for an hour or more a day, reading Mussar books. I literally wore out a pair of boots and a pair of sandals reading thousands of pages, and I'm not done yet.

You might be wondering what that word was I just used. It's pronounced moo-SAR and is the Hebrew word for discipline, but it's so much more than that. Mussar is a thread that runs through the Bible, a genre of Jewish literature, a movement in the 1800s that saved Judaism, and a resurgence today. It's a personal practice of reflection, inner work, and growth in specific character qualities.

Mussar is one of the best things that ever happened to me and I've reached a point where I need to pass it on! That's why I started the Mussar Center and with God's help will be sharing what I've learned there. Don't worry, everything's going to stay the same here at Holy Language Institute and I'll still be teaching the same lessons. It's just that I'll also be teaching this new series through the Mussar Center.

So having said that, sign up for emails at our new website https://mussar.center and I'll send you the first lesson. Thank you for celebrating this special day with us and for helping get the word out!
