Ok this is my very first post here on this site so here it goes... drum roll please! 

Hi Steemians! My Name Is Bob Nevin. I'm so excited to be here!

 So that gives you a brief overview of who I am but Let's get into the more specifics of who I am, what I do, and what I can do to offer you should you follow me.

First of all I believe in this concept: if you scratch my back I will do backflips for you as well scratch your back. This means if you follow me I will follow you back. That's the golden rule of social media, isn't it? :)

Besides blogging business and giving value which I will do, I love spending time doing other things such as:

 

• Camping
• Woodworking - furniture and instrument making
• Fishing
• Hiking
• Spending all day at Cabelas/Bass Pro (lol)
• Boating
• Canoeing
• Swimming
• Snorkeling
• Hanging out with family, friends, and my puppies around the campfire

Here is a list of my likes - outside of business and blogging:

• Music (all kinds but not rap)
good food
• Gardening and landscaping
• Home improvement projects
• Watching movies - Adventure, Fantasy, sci-fi, action, thrillers, and comedy
• Playing with my puppies and my family
• Going on trips to Canada.

And the list goes on.

I'm a optimistic type of individual and always look for the good and things rather than dwell on misfortunes and misgivings of other people and situations. I'm always there to lend a helping hand when necessary. My mother didn't raise a jerk! lol 

My background as mentioned in the video is actually in music. I started off singing when I was in second grade and in elementary school in Shaker Heights Ohio which is a suburb of Cleveland. I started singing my church choir and was basically indoctrinated into the Royal school of church music teachings and philosophies which was very regimented. Through that group I spent two weeks of almost every summer at choir camp either here in Ohio and at Princeton University in New Jersey. I also spent a week abroad one summer at Pocklington, York, England and had the opportunity to sing at York minster for a choir festival. I'll never forget it. It was absolutely wonderful and was a triple lifetime.

Don't believe me that I sang in choir? Do a Google search for Robert Nevin Boy Soloist and click on the first entry that matches the search. My picture will show up fully vested in front of a pipe organ and I am the kid on the left side.

Crazy what you can find online, right?

But yep! That's me with hair! ha ha

I also was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra's childrens choir as well as a member of the Cleveland Orchestra's Chorus/ Blossom Festival Chorus after my voice changed and settled down. I was also blessed with the opportunity to sing with the Cleveland opera as a kid and some major productions including Bizet’s Carmen as well as the lead role of Ahmal in Gian-Carlo Mennotti’s Ahmal and The Night Visitors With the composer directing. 

After high school I went on and her and my college BA degree in Music - vocal performance. Then reality struck like an anvil dropped on my head!  (I have Puccini's anvil chorus going through my head now. (if you don't know what that is either look it up on Youtube or forget it and keep reading :) ))

I have to get a job that can pay the bills.

With thousands of dollars in debt I joined the labor force. Unfortunately I could not find a paying singing position no matter how hard I tried. So I ended up having several jobs at once from selling Cleveland Indians tickets, golf course attendant, to selling model trains to working as a Data entry Clerk for several different companies working in a cubicle earning a very low-wage. blech! I was on my way to become a professional interviewee. 

It was during that time my mom found out she had breast cancer and succumb to that disease in 1997. At the same time my father also lost his job. A huge double whammy. 

My dad had a friend so he can learn the ropes to become a recruiter for the paper packaging industry. He made his first placement six months into the position and then the owner the company promptly fired him. Not because he hated them but because he learned what he needed to do on his own and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

At this time we were renting a house that was in terrible condition. I mean it's not like the walls were going to fall down or anything but the septic tank kept backing up. The owners did with the could get someone out there in timely manner to clean up the mess. But still we had to deal with that.



In any event just keep that in the back your mind for what I'm going to tell you next.



Since my dad was let go are year after his wife of many years passed away, he made the conscious decision to start his own recruiting firm as a competitor to his old boss. At this time I was working at Rockwell - Allen Bradley and their customer service department speaking with angry customers all day long and suffering with my own bout of kidney stones, he asked me to help and was upfront that he would not be able to pay me.

But since I knew my dad very well, and I did not like him - I loved him, and furthermore trusted his leadership, Drive, and motivation I said, "hell yeah!"

LETS DO THIS!

Three months and working every night putting in hundreds if not thousands of names companies, phone numbers, addresses, and names of various individuals in various capacities, we made our first placement. That commission check was $11,250. (results not typical and not a guarantee of income for you.)



This was before the Internet you know of today. There were no Smart phones and certainly no websites like you know them today. My desk was a fold up table with an old IBM PC running windows 95, hard-line telephone, fax machine and a filing cabinet. Every time it rained, we prayed that the septic tank would not back up because our office was in the basement. We had the biggest motivation to get out of there!!!!!

Now, we own our own home and offices over three car garage and my dad is comfortably retired. 

So why am I here? Why am I on Steemit you ask? (FYI- If you see it typed Steamit instead of Steemit, its because I have a Nazi auto correct program and may have not seen it Autocorrect. Drive me nuts sometimes. Ok moving on...)

Why am I on Steemit you ask? Because I know the value this social media platform has. I also know that I can bring to you and this community as a person is gone through the ropes is on base business owner and I understand what it takes to grow from nothing to financial freedom. 

In addition to that I've also partnered with other people who offer Great programs with no hype or BS to help people start their own home-based business and where they can capture leads and close them without looking like a washed up  greasebal used car salesman, a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman, and certainly not a spammer or scammer. 

It's called attraction marketing.



Don't roll your eyes because I'm not selling you anything. 

I apply attraction marketing methods with my business in recruiting in the paper and packaging industry. This means that instead of me going out to call on customers my customers call me instead. This was a paradigm shift because I used to make 50 calls a day to customers! 

But now since the Internet has grown so much it's much easier to do attraction marketing. So this means I have 5 to 10 people following me on social media every single day without me picking up the phone. I can go one week without checking on LinkedIn and then go back and find at least 20 or more people wanting to follow me or they need help looking for job or help getting a job filled.

That's the beauty of attraction marketing.


Another thing that I do I like to blog about are other methods on how to make money online, Steemit being one of them, any other miscellaneous information (maybe include some adventures I have been on). So if I find some cool information to share about steam it and my journey on this new venture I will make sure to share that.
