Wow, you're well qualified. There could be some business oriented jobs, but Sam hasn't started liking yet. He was told there are recruitment agencies that could help out too!
Thai kids are curious, but yes, they can be shy to speak. Becca teaches from 1.5 yrs to 12 yrs. It's quite diverse and she says she likes it as she learns how to deal with different age groups.
The meet-up was good and Maverick did say he only gave people less than a week's notice, so next time there will be a longer notice period. It's good to hear your son managed to go to one too and get motivated to be more active on the platform.
If you are here for the long-term, it would be beneficial to try to get into the language. Sam was reminded last night by his dad's former colleague who has been living in Thailand for the past 15 years or so to get learning! Start off with flash cards and progress from there.
I think I should go the recruiter route with my quals. I do know there are a couple of good agencies here and I will send links when I dig them out. I love kids - but I really don't think I have that type of energy at my ancient age :)

When you feel ready to get back to the daily grind then yes we feel the recruiter route is best for you. Well, since you don't know contacts in the business world in Bangkok just yet!
We hope it all goes well!

Thank you - I just read a fb post talking about offering to go to resorts to help with English and Social Media. That is what I did last year in North Thailand (unpaid). Maybe I will try that idea again.

Ah cool, sometimes this could lead onto something else. We have seen similar ads where they paid for your transport, accommodation and meals (included in the resort) over a certain period of time (like a week or two) you teach English - like a summer camp outside Bangkok as it is the Thai summer holidays for kids now. We saw some ads last year giving 20,000 baht too for the two weeks. Not bad as you wouldn't use that 20,000 during the two weeks anyway since everything is provided. This role is only good if you are a freelance teacher taking jobs here and there. Anyway, going off on one. Hope you have some luck with that opportunity! All the best!
