My journey is one of incredible change through pain. As Paul wrote, “By the grace of God, I am what I am” (1 Cor. 15:10). I had a great deal to deal with, and I confess it took many years of searching, trial and brokenness to find consistent peace and victory in God. I love what God has done with my life, a major sinner saved through faith in Christ, with the task to tell others what Jesus can do for them, if they will let Him. I also agree totally with the Apostle Paul that having no righteousness of my own is my reality: “I didn’t want some petty, inferior brand of righteousness that comes from keeping a list of rules when I could get the robust kind that comes from trusting Christ—God’s righteousness” (Phil 3:9) The Message. We all grow in God through His incomparable Word, the Bible, as well as illumination that comes by the Spirit of Truth, God’s Holy Spirit, but also through experential knowledge gained by walking in the dusty and well-worn shoes of life.
