Hello friends of Steemit, I want to share with you this beautiful post where I will show you my beautiful hometown the City of Maturín. It is located in the north-eastern region of Monagas State, Venezuela and was founded on December 7, 1760. It is the largest and most populated municipality in the state.
The center of Maturín is worth visiting, and in particular Bolivar Avenue, where there are many trees that give freshness to this place. On one side of the avenue is the house of Culture as historical heritage of the State.
Further on is the Cathedral Nuestra Señora del Carmen, which is considered one of the most modern cathedrals in Latin America, inaugurated in 1981. Church where I had the honor and privilege to marry and have the blessing of God.
On the outskirts of the Cathedral there is a beautiful landscape and where there are two sculptures of two great priests, John Paul II and Monsignor Antonio José Ramírez Salaverría, who was the first bishop of the Diocese of Maturín.
Advanced in the tour we find the flask of Juana La Avanzadora, this is a statue, a tribute to Juana Ramírez, known as a monaguense heroine who defended the city during the war of independence.
Among the Maturín parks, the Municipal Park La Guaricha stands out, which is located at the end of the Avenue. Bolivar. It has an artificial lagoon, a lot of free space and a small zoo.
We can also find our José Tadeo Monagas International Airport, which was inaugurated in the 40s.
This is a small summary of the kindness that my dear Maturin gives us. Proud to be born in this beautiful city. I hope it has been to your liking
