My 2018: A Tour in my Beautiful Hometown - Cagayan de Oro City

Hi Steemians! I would like to introduce to all of you my hometown, the city that is known for peaceful living and friendly people that is Cagayan de Oro City located in the island of Mindanao, Philippines. So now, I will going to tour you around to this great and progressive city in the southern part of the Philippines.

The picture shows Cagayan de Oro's Business Central District with its high rise building of hotels and condominiums.

More constructions and cranes are seen visibly because of the city's good investment and emerging economy.

I was born and raised in this city and I am very proud that my parents raised and nurtured me here. The city charmed with its kind hearted and fun loving people. I grew with the love of God and my family served the Lord. I always loved its peaceful and serene surroundings where peace is always on top of their minds. That is why I was able to finished my studies with the help of them. I finished Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Management and Entrepreneurship in one of the best university in the country.

Cagayan de Oro City is a 1st class highly urbanized city in Northern Mindanao, Philippines. It also serves as the regional center and business hub of Northern Mindanao, and part of the growing Metropolitan Cagayan de Oro area,The City of Cagayan de Oro is located along the north central coast of Mindanao island facing Macajalar Bay and is bordered by the municipalities of Opol to the west, Tagoloan to the east, and the provinces of Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte to the south of the city. According to the 2015 census, the city has a population of 675,950, making it the 10th most populous city in the Philippines.

Cagayan de Oro City is known as the Extreme Adventure of the Country with its famous White Water RaftingAdventure and its newly built Water-theme Park Resort, The Seven Seas Water Part and Resort, the biggest water-park in the Philippines.

The city experienced massive flooding with the Tropical Storm Sendong and Pablo way back 2012 and 2015 respectively and the recent Tropical Storm Vinta that killed hundreds of lives of the Kagayanons.

After the typhoon hit

People flocked outside their houses

flood is seen everywhere

I have witnessed of how many times this city come to trials when experienced struggling devastation of the nature but what’s more to be proud of is its resiliency to rise up, start re-calibrating thy ways, more macro effort will have micro effects to the society and start building again in spite of the tribulations.

People here are igniting positive traits and good character. Help is always given at times of need. That is why this city has gone a long way and as long as we have each other arms, there is always HOPE.
