Thousands of villagers catch fish during a folk festival in Wangka, Guizhou Province. The Fish Festival is a traditional folk festival within the Miao ethnic community. People gather and hold competitions in the local rivers, also praying for favorable weather and a good harvest. It is said that the more fish that are caught, the more luck the locals will have for the rest of year.

This festival is considered as the symbol humanity's ancient fishing and hunting life. It is listed on Guizhou's provincial Directory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
