Rock Around The Block
Based on the time this will be posted, I imagine that the majority of the people who will be on my STEEM block will be those in the western hemisphere and the far east. Most of Europe will be fairly quiet. If this were a weekend, I might include them, but since there's work and school for a lot of people tomorrow, I would imagine most are already winding down.
No doubt the bots are working 24-7, so there's bound to be a bunch of those on my block. I'm not that aware of who might be considered a celebrity on Steemit, but I'm just going to say that @papa-pepper and @meno show up there. It's bad luck to give the name of a troll, but there's probably plenty of those, too, since just like bots, they don't ever seem to sleep.
As far as who might be the landlord or the witness who mints this block, it would be cool if it were @steemcommunity or @pjau, or someone else I am pretty familiar with. Both of them are very community minded in somewhat different ways, and either of them could use the work.
What Might Block Actually Looked Like—UPDATE
Well, this is rather eye opening.
I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting (probably should have gone and looked at a block before I made any kind of predictions) but the block doesn't seem to be that big. All told, there's 29 operations on it, which split up thusly: 14 custom_json, 11 upvotes, 2 replies (which are actually posts—mine and another) 1 claim_reward_balance, and 1 transfer.
Breaking The Block Down
Okay, so my block number for this post was 28,454,202. The witness was @timcliff a Top 20 witness who is pretty active on the blockchain and seemingly always quick with an answer to many questions.
Of the custom_json operations, most if not all seemed related to STEEM Monsters in some fashion, with sm_team_reveal and sm_submit_team making the bulk of them. Within the data there were terms such as "steemmonster" and "summoner," or "matchtype:Ranked."
Those receiving upvotes included @moncia90 and @isaandrich, who both got two on the same block.
My post as far as the timestamp goes, appears to be among the last on the block, coming in at T23:42:18. I share that time with six others. Eleven different operations showed up at T23:42:15, the highest amount on the block. The earliest, though, came in at T23:33:15, which seems odd to me. Am I reading this wrong? Were these operations from the beginning to end nine minutes apart? I would think it would be more like nine seconds, or less, for that matter, but I fully admit I don't know what the timestamp is actually referencing.
The above is a look at where I came in on the block based on the Operations tab, sandwiched in between an upvote for @violetmed and @steemcafe, with the upvotes coming from @sergino and @letsplaywhatelse.
No one I guessed at appears on the block. Sigh. Sorry guys. I do recognize moncia90 because they won both the engagement and the curation leagues that @abh12345 hosts every week, which is the first time I've ever seen that happen in nearly nine months. I recognize @smartsteem, too, who apparently transferred some STEEM to @valikos on my block.
Final Thoughts
I should have done a little more exploring and thinking before I just guessed. I thought about folks who might be posting at this time, rather than every other action on the blockchain, including how much the STEEM Monsters might be affecting things. I should have really factored in voters, too.
All-in-all, though, I enjoyed the exercise. There's a lot of data that doesn't make much sense because it looks like long cryptic lines of random letters and numbers, so it's not all thrills and chills down there. However, as an educational exercise, it's very enlightening, and very much worth the effort of posting first, then going to look at the block and adding the update.
Time's running out on the contest if you want to participate. You can find the particulars below.
About This Post
This post is a participant in @sndbox's Who Are Your Blockchain Neighbors? [BlockEdu contest]. The objective was to make some guesses about who or what might be on the block this post ends up on, then actually update the post with interesting data from the block itself.
You can find the rules here.

There are no blocks in my neighbourhood, we don't like to stop people from doing what they want to do ;)

Sounds like a great neighborhood, @kabir88. :) Fortunately, this block didn't seem to be keeping people from doing what they wanted, either, especially STEEM Monsters, which had nearly half of the activity.

Cool stat about steemmonsters. What block explorer are you using? It's not something that I normally delve into.

The contest post said to use steemdb.com. It's actually pretty informative, way more than just the raw data sitting on the blockchain like I went through for my post. I don't use it a lot, because I try to catch stuff within a week on steemworld.org, but as far as database interfaces go, steemdb is much easier to sort through than steemd.com is.

Hey, @abh12345.
You were one of the folks I thought should be signing off long ago. :) Of course, I could see you were at least on Discord until about ten minutes ago, so you might not see this until later in your morning.
At any rate, they wanted me to guess the witness, and so I went for it, knowing it was more likely going to be a Top 20 witness. And it was. :)

That would be great if you were, @paulag, but alas, my post, your comment and my reply are all going to be on different blocks. Isn't that amazing, though? We're seeing it all on one page but it's spread out all over the blockchain, along with the upvotes we've laid down. I'd hate to go chasing all of that through the blockchain. :)

Interesting, I will have to see how it progresses. I will check back

Sorry about that, @wolfhart. It's kind of a "made you look" kind of deal, but that's what the process was. Get the unfinished post on a block, then go and observe the block. It's updated now, though, if you're still interested.

I don’t know enough about this but I do find it interesting. Just the fact that all of this will be there forever. No more digging in the dirt for information on civilization.

Nope. Unless they have to unearth a witness node and get it up and running first. :)
Well, I don't know that much about it either, which I hope was very evident from what I wrote, and didn't write. Still, I agree, it is good to know that it's there and if you have a tool you can use to find it, than all the better. Sorting by date isn't such an easy function, and I believe there are limits to how far some queries will go.
I haven't used steemdb.com enough to be that intelligent about it. Much more used to sitting on steemworld.org most the day and seeing what comes in if GINAbot doesn't pick it up.

My experance is limited except for when I got into steemit. I have not touch a computer since 91.
We have to keep pushing forward learning this stuff or get our kids to do it

Hey, @janton.
Sorry. Been traveling moving the oldest son and his family (including the new grandson).
You need to go to steemdb.com, put in your username to get to your information, and then go through the data for the block where your post showed up. You can find a link to the block number by your post.

howdy sir Glen! oh that's okay about the reply time, where is the oldest son moving?
Thanks for the information and I had something strange happen yesterday that I wanted to tell you about. I had a big bunch of votes come in for a post that I did weeks ago and then quite a few came in for a post I did almost 4 months ago! We still have the 7 day voting time limit don't we?

As far as I know, we do. Did the votes come in on the post itself, or did it come in on a new comment? There is the STEEM evergreen project (not remembering what it's called, that is seeking to keep paying users (not sure how it's been doing though).
The other answer could be that the group of votes just simply don't know what they're doing, and are essentially wasting their votes.
My son and his family are moving in with his inlaws after spending some time with us. The inlaws live about 25 minutes away, so they'll still be close.

I don't think this comment made it in the same block. It's been more than 3 seconds since you posted. :D

Yeah, not even close. :) The post is now updated, if you're interested in taking a look see. Lot of STEEM Monsters activity, which I'm sure you'll be happy to hear. Wish I could decipher just what it all meant. :)
I tried figuring out the timestamp for each operation and failed, if all of it is supposed to be happening within a three second interval.

Cool idea for a post. Sadly seems less and less people on the block these days (although some of that is less spam but seems new users are few and far between)
