The skies were filled with dark clouds rolling in last week while I was out for a photo hike in the James River Park System in Richmond, Virginia. I was out on Belle Isle taking photos with my Sony A7ii when the sky started to darken and I knew a storm was coming. I got the shot below before the clouds got too menacing.
I did a few different edited versions of the photo using Maxcurve and Phototoaster on my iPad. Here’s another one I liked with more of an golden sky look.
And here’s the original. The original was nothing special, but the editing tools allow me to get creative.
To take the photo, I used an app on my Sony camera that takes about 60 shots and blends them together. It turns a fast moving river like the James into a calm lake. Here’s a similar shot without the long exposure smoothing.
And here’s a final shot as I was running across the bridge to get back to my hotel before a massive storm hit.
This is my entry in @leyargoz and @sol25’s photo Challenge.
