The Salagou is a large artificial lake located near Clermont l'Herault and Lodève in the Hérault department of Occitanie (ex.: Languedoc Roussillon) in the South of France.

It was created around 40 years ago in order to irrigate the valley. The intention was the push the winemakers to reconvert their vineyards into grain fields or orchards.

Today, this exceptional landscape attracts tourists, fishing and water sports enthusiasts. It is one of the region's major tourist attractions.

Le Salagou est un grand lac artificiel situé près de Clermont l'Hérault et de Lodève dans le département de l'Hérault en Occitanie (ex. : Languedoc Roussillon) dans le sud de la France.

Il a été créé, il y a environ 40 ans, pour irriguer la vallée. L'intention était de pousser les vignerons à reconvertir leurs vignobles en champs de céréales ou en vergers.

Aujourd'hui, ce paysage exceptionnel attire les touristes, les pêcheurs et les amateurs de sports nautiques. Il s'agit de l'une des principales attractions touristiques de la région.

Fue creado unos 40 años atras para irrigar el valle. La intención era empujar a los viticultores a reconvertir sus viñedos en campos de cereales o huertos.

Hoy en día, este paisaje excepcional atrae los turistas, pescadores y entusiastas de deportes acuáticos. Es una de las principales atracciones turísticas de la región.
