Make personal finace simple

in myfinancialroad •  7 years ago

Hi friends,

As you might know I've been trying to create a #PersonalFinace series. I've posted about the road ahead and also why you should stop using credit cards . Today after reading one personal finance article from my favorite website Rockstar Finance, I found this article very interesting.

I've been trying to do lots of things from a personal finance state point, I've started to track all my expenses ( App review to be posted soon) and I have also tried to simplify my finances, that's part of the reason I dropped out credit cards and started to use cash instead.

In the article, I really like how simple things can be. I would like to know what are you guys doing regarding budget? I pretty much track down all my expenses and I'm happy with that. Savings made automatic with a program and I also set up the transparent piggy back to have a reminder to save cash.

I believe that we all this steps someday I will be doing better financially and I thank God that I'm actually moving.

Here is a graph from my STEEM progress so far. I believe is time to buy before it goes up again.

I will try to constantly post my financial journey, follow #myfinancialroad for more financial posts.

Thanks for reading.

I have tried this and never succeeded. I quit as soon as I throw the first receipt and goget to track one expense. I need to commit.

I've been trying for over a year and just now I can see the results.

I've been using You Need A Budget for a couple of years now and it's turned my finances around. It's a paid program but there are similar apps that are free.

It's the envelope budgeting system, but using an app makes recording transactions easy - it only takes a few seconds, and chances are you have your phone on you already!

You're also ONLY spending money that you have in your account, so I'm able to use credit cards for all my purchases and get cash back. It's not much, but the $10-20 a month adds up and after a couple of years of using this system I'm comfortable enough to go for some of the big sign-up bonuses.

At the very least, if you have hit roadblocks with budgeting in the past, I recommend this:

Don't budget for the first month or so. Simply track your expenses and review. Use an app and record everything. Go back and look at what all you spent and where. Some of it will be money you didn't even realize you spent. After a month or so, THEN create a budget now that you know what you spend and where, and use the budget as a way to control that spending.

It's a lot easier to control what you DO KNOW than what you DON'T.

Very nice comment indeed. I use an app and I will do a review for the app soon, stay tune so you can see the post.
